2024 Scholarship Winners
Avery Bean, Yellowjackets Scholar 2024, broadened his horizons by choosing Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, in Indiana, for his undergraduate studies. His major is Kinesiology, with a focus on consulting in Exercise Science. He hopes to be a strength and conditioning coach at the high school or college level. He brings personal experience to this endeavor, having researched and implemented his own weight and strength training as he participated on WHS’ Championship football team for three consecutive seasons.
Gwen Ambrose, daughter of Suzanne Rhoad Ambrose ’84, is the Thomas Rhoad Scholar 2024.
She was a member of the Championship Field Hockey team, served in student government, won 1st place in the Science Fair and participated in a WHS Spanish trip to Costa Rica. Helping out with her own grandmother inspired her to assist other elder Windsor citizens. She’s a Psych major at UVM, where she finds classes challenging and the professors great.
Guy Ciccarelli : Occupation Trade Grant Scholarship. Guy is the son of Jaime Davidson Ciccarelli ‘99. Guy was a member of the Championship winning football team. He is attending the TTen program at Lakes Region Community College in Laconia, NH where he is training to become a Toyota Master Technician. After he completes his two year program he will continue to work at Magee Toyota in Claremont, NH.

Madison Lawyer, daughter of Travis and Destiny (Gray) Lawyer, both ‘96s, was chosen for the memorial scholarship now called the John and Connie Barth Scholarship. At WHS, she served in student government and, off campus, ran the Haunted Trail at Ascutney Outdoors. She is currently a student in the Honors Program at Keene State College, majoring in English and Education, minoring in theater, where her grades have earned her the distinction of the President’s List. She regularly travels home to substitute teach, often at the Albert Bridge School in Brownsville
Aaron Archambault, Yellowjackets Scholar 2024, was actively involved in Student Government and Future Business Leaders of America. This year, he is enjoying is time at Champlain College pursuing a double major in Games Design and Game Programming. He also plans to spend a semester at the Montreal campus, learning from people in the industry.
In his free time, Aaron likes spending time with friends and has started rock climbing. He is enjoying exploring Burlington and look forward to warmer weather.
Olivia MacLeay, daughter of Sara Nowlan ’00, is the Leon Royce Scholar 2024. She was a Class Officer and soccer team Captain at WHS, where her soccer skill led to her earning the place kicker position for the Varsity Football team. She’s still playing soccer, at Plymouth State, where she is President of the Class of ’28 and on the President’s List academically. She’s a Criminal Justice major with a minor in pre-law. Her current favorite course, “The Individual and the Law,” focuses on interpretation of law on both the individual and collective level. She is the definition of scholar-athlete!
Tanner Moody : Occupation Trade Grant Scholarship. Tanner was a WHS athlete, participating on both the baseball and basketball teams. Tanner was accepted into and is attending Wyotech Trade School in Laramie, WY, excelling in the Advanced Diesel Program. Thus far he has secured numerous industry certifications through his programming. Upon graduating from Wyotech in June he will return to VT and begin his working career at Wyatt's Welding and Diesel in Sharon, VT.
